When it comes to water-fed pole (WFP) window cleaning, choosing the right brush can make a big difference in how efficient, comfortable, and effective your work is. But with so many brushes to choose from, it’s no surprise that one of the most common questions we get is:
"Which brush should I use?"
In this post, we’ll break it down in a way that’s easy to understand – whether you’re just starting out or looking to try something new.
Here’s the deal: experienced window cleaners can get great results with almost any brush. But each brush has its own feel, weight, and performance on different surfaces. Some are better suited for certain window types, while others match specific cleaning techniques.
Ultimately, it often comes down to personal preference, but we can definitely help you narrow it down.
If you're new to WFP window cleaning and don’t have brush experience yet, we’ve got two great starting points:
For Cold Water Cleaning:
Try the Ultimate™ Medium-Soft brush – it’s a well-balanced brush that's easy to use and delivers great results.
For Hot Water Cleaning:
Go with the Super-Lite® Stiff brush – tough enough for hotter temps, with reliable cleaning power.
These brushes are excellent for beginners and will give you a reference point to compare other brushes down the track.
Here’s a simple breakdown of our most popular brush ranges and what they’re best for:
Not all bristles are the same – here’s a quick guide:
Bristle Type | Best For |
---|---|
Mono-Filament | Great water flow, perfect for rinsing on the glass, works well with hot water (stiff types). |
Flocked | Soft, microfibre-like tips – gentle cleaning, ideal for rinsing off the glass and leaded windows. |
DuPont® Nylon | Holds moisture well, lifts dirt easily, needs less pressure. Good for on-glass rinsing. |
TaperTec™ |
Dual-action tips – soft touch + extra scrubbing when needed. Versatile and effective for detailed cleaning. |
